The students at Faithful Children Center in Ogembo, Kenya must pass the Primary (KCPE) exam to be permitted in Secondary school. Once in Secondary school, they must not only pass the final exam (KCSE) but they must have maintained a C average to be accepted into a University Program. Most of the children from FCC don’t qualify to attend University. This happens for a number of reasons. One of which is the distinct lack of educational support given in the public school system. The Kenyan teachers, as most teachers around the world, have unrealistic demands put on them. They manage classes sizes of 45+ students. Our students attend a school that we funded with a better teacher to student ratio. Nontheless, it is quite an accomplishment for any student to have earned the right to attend University. FCC has 4 students currently enrolled in University. Jailus will graduate in December of 2019 with a Teaching Degree. Amos and Joseph are starting their first year with the hopes of becoming a nurse and an engineer.
